HD RIDE PLANNER Instructions
It looks complicated but it's quite simple!


 

All of the ride maps for the 2023 RGNR are online.  They can be used with the Boom GTS or the Boom 6.5 radios.  If you have the 6.5, instructions are at the bottom of this page.  The Boom GTS allows for an integrated experience with the HD app.  Routes can be created, shared between riders and automatically sent to your navigation system in a moment.  If you choose to import the maps into your Boom GTS manually, scroll to the bottom of the page and follow the 6.5 instructions.

 

NOTE:  To use the maps you need to:
1.  create an account on the Harley Davidson Ride Planner 
2.  download the HD App to your cell phone
3.  visit the RGNR website map page (using your phone or your computer) to access the maps to bookmark them
4.  Send the bookmarked maps from your phone app to your Boom Audio system

Follow the steps below to complete this process.

 

STEP 1

CREATE ONLINE HD ACCOUNT

Navigate to the Harley Davidson Ride Planner Webpage.  This can be done using your phone or a computer

1  Select the SIGN IN button on the top right. 

2  If you already have an account with HD, sign in. 

3  If no account,  select  CREATE ACCOUNT (located in the center of the page) and then follow the provided instructions

4.  An extra step would be to BOOKMARK the log-in page on your web browser.  LINK:  https://maps.harley-davidson.com/

 


 

STEP 2 

SAVE RIDE MAPS (from the RGNR Website) TO YOUR HD ONLINE ACCOUNT

1  Go to  RGNR Map Page 

2  Open your selected ride by clicking on the link,  A new Ride Planner Window will open.  IMPORTANT:  Make certain that you are logged in

3  Save the ride to your HD account by clicking on the bookmark button (Star Symbol) located on the top righthand corner of the map.  This will place a copy of the map in your HD ACCOUNT.

NOTE:  Since the saved map will be your copy, you are able to edit the ride as well.

STEP 3 

DOWNLOAD HARLEY DAVIDSON APP.

Your phone needs to be able to communicate with your bike.  This is accomplished through the HD App.

1  Once you download the app onto your phone, you will need to:

2  Open the newly installed HD App on your Smart Phone

3  sign in using the new Harley Davidson account that you created in step 1 (above)

4  Select profile on the bottom of the page (helmet icon)

5  Select MY BIKES (at top) and then select add a bike.  Take your time and follow the instructions.  The app will ask you to enter the VIN information from your bike. Without this, the bike will not communicate with the app.  

 


 

STEP 4 

SEND SAVED MAPS TO YOUR BIKE

NOTE:  To send the maps from the app to your bike you need to pair your phone to your bike. There is a video tutorial at the bottom of this page if you need assistance.  If you already have paired your phone with your bike please follow the steps below.

 

1  On your Smart Phone, open the HD app and sign in to your HD account 

2  Go to your bike, turn on the ignition and your Boom Audio System.   Then, access the navigation system.  We'll Wait!  :)

3  Select the profile button at the bottom of the app's page (helmet icon) and then select MY PROFILE at the TOP of your page

4  Scroll down the page and select the saved map that you want to send to your bike and then and hit the "SEND TO BIKE" button.

5  Once you complete step 4,  you will receive a notice on your Boom System that it is receiving a ride plan from your phone, select the VIEW button

6  If there are additional rides that you want to import to your bike, repeat steps iv & v.  You can only send one map at a time.  :)  

 


That's it!  The HD App on your phone will send the selected ride to your navigation system and you are set to ride at the RGNR.

 PAIR YOUR PHONE TO YOUR BIKE TUTORIAL

NOTE:  Your Smart Phone needs to be paired to your bike in order for the app and the bike to communicate.  Here's a quick video demonstrating how to do this. 

  

 


I have a Boom! Box 6.5?  HOW DO I GET MY RIDES ONTO MY HARLEY-DAVIDSON?
 
To import rides into your Harley-Davidson Boom! Box Navigation, go to   the RGNR Map Page  the Harley-Davidson and click the DOWNLOAD GPX link within each Ride Edit or Preview. You then place the GPX file on a USB drive and plug the drive into your bike and follow the import instructions.
